A brusque shake in the wee moments of dawn, at the sweetest peak of exquisite slumber. Like the linear asymptote, we approach our goal arbitrarily closely but never quite touch it. Failure is hardest to accept when you were nearly 'there'.

You're very correct my dear, it's so much easier to lose focus or even quit when you're almost there and it makes you so much more disappointed in yourself but that's why we should work hardest toward the end, which granted not that many people do, but really we should....I'm sure you'll be fine whatever it is....
